My 1972 VW 1302s was purchased during June 1991 while I was living in Jamaica. It wasn't my first car but it was my first project that I could modify and enjoy on the road. It went through various stages and gradually became my drag car. I have always loved VW's and I think it came from memories of my dad working on his VW projects and me helping him as a kid.
Throughout the process, many VW enthusiasts have tried to copy many of my innovative concepts, from the color, the custom wing that I designed and the engine modifications...as they say "Imitation is the best form of Flattery". I began drag racing in Jamaica during 1994-1998 and took an hiatus after the birth of my second daughter.
When I returned home to the United States, my car was in-toe and my most radical transformation has taken place over the past four years, changing from a turbocharged VW engine into the first known VW bug to have a Rotary Engine with this kind of HP. Many challenges have occurred along the way in trying to find the right combination and parts that would allow me to meet my expectations. What has resulted from these challenges is the need to manufacture my own custom parts to achieve my goal. I have now started to offer these parts for sale that I have developed and tested to other racing enthusiasts with similar applications. They consist of Suspension, Engine, Transaxles ,Chassis and Engine Management.
I am having fun while working them out and I will continue to do so. One of my favorite quote says, "People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing" by Dale Carnegie and that is so true.
